What is glow-in-the-dark?

Glow in the dark technology has been around for a very long time however the newest version of this technology, based on Strontium Aluminate, is still very new.

The old zinc based glow products used to glow for minutes at best and many people today still think this is the case when they hear glow in the dark.

HOW LumigloGLOW-IN-THE DARK TECHNOLOGY WORKS

Imagine concrete that looks like ordinary, plain gray concrete during the day, but after the lights go out, Lumiglo™ will generate a luminescent glow that will last all night long without being connected to any power source. Although that may sound like super-concrete you may have read about in a science fiction novel, it’s actually a possibility today thanks to the development of new glow-in-the dark aggregates.

Designed for indoor and outdoor applications, Lumiglo™ absorbs and stores natural and artificial light energy, from both the sun and artificial lighting. Once the light source is no longer present, Lumiglo™ begins releasing their stored energy. Lumiglo™ utilizes a proprietary formulation of powerful, patented photoluminescent pigments, so they will emit their glow for 12 hours or longer to provide a self-generating ambient light source.

Lumiglo™ products can be fully charged in 10 minutes when exposed to natural light. Direct sunlight is not required.

In interior applications, Lumiglo™ products can be fully energized in 15 to 20 minutes using halogen, fluorescent or incandescent light sources.
